Provincial funding to provide renewal, program improvements

Our vision to innovate tomorrow by educating today received a boost this month. As part of the 2017-18 Pupil Accommodation Grant – School Renewal Allocation, provided by the Ministry of Education, to address the cost of repairing and renovating schools and infrastructure, Waterloo Region District School Board will receive approximately $9.8 million.

Due to inclement weather, today’s track & field meet at Empire PS will be postponed until Fri. May 26th.

Fundraiser Event in Uptown Waterloo

This is a fundraiser event for children living with and beyond cancer.  The event is being hosted by an Empire school family and will take place in Uptown Waterloo Square (75 King St. S.) Saturday May 27, 1-4pm.  Funds raised are going to the three pediatric oncology camps in Ontario.  Hope to see you there!

Grade 3 and 6 EQAO assessments begin May 23, grade 9 assessments on June 5

Beginning Tuesday, May 23, grade 3 and 6 students will begin EQAO assessments of reading, writing and mathematics. Grade 9 students will complete their assessment of mathematics, beginning on Monday, June 5. Please check with your individual school for exact assessment dates.
