We have a reported case of fifth disease at Empire.  This viral infection is common in children but can affect people of all ages.  Fifth disease is not dangerous and most people recover without any issues.  It can be serious for a pregnant woman or for people with certain blood disorders.  If you are interested, the Public Health Unit of Waterloo Region provides additional information which you can access by following the link below.
