Dear Eagle Families,

 

We are pleased to share the process for the retrieval of student belongings, which will occur during the week of June 15th.  Given that our school closed without the opportunity to organize student belongings, teachers will need some time to sort and gather your child’s personal items. We ask for your understanding and patience as we undertake this work.

 

This week, teachers will access the school to sort, gather and bag your child’s personal belongings from their classroom. Teachers will do their best to determine what belongs to whom, relying largely on personal items, such as shoes and clothes, being labelled with a name.   

 

Please find information below which outlines the health and safety practices that must be followed for pick-up of your child’s belongings:

 

Before Coming to the School Site:

Before coming to the school it is imperative that the parent/guardian and child complete the Region of Waterloo Public Health COVID-19 Self-Assessment and 

1. • Be free of COVID-19 symptoms
   • Not have been in close contact with any individual diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibiting potential COVID-19 symptoms
   • If the self-assessment indicates recommendations for care/isolation, and/or the conditions a) or b) are not met, do not come to the school/site.

 

You will be given a designated date and time to arrive at the school. (Please see the chart below for times provided) Please only arrive at your designated date and time. THIS IS LISTED BELOW.  The WRDSB has an obligation to follow social gathering requirements set out by the Government of Ontario as well as the critical physical (social) distancing criteria outside and inside the facility at all times.

 

For parents arriving with a vehicle and picking up at the GYM

Please park your car on Alexandra, Stanley or Empire Street,  proceed to the front doors outside the GYM.  There will be arrows and signs to guide you. (Same place you picked up a Chromebook)

 

For parents arriving with a vehicle and picking up at the LIBRARY

Please park in our school parking lot, leaving space between your vehicle and others.  Proceed to the exterior LIBRARY Door off the sidewalk, following the signs/arrows.

 

Where possible, families are asked to identify one person who can come to the school to retrieve the student’s belongings. Parents/Guardians will be provided direction from school staff and are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines at all times while on school property.  Parents/Guardians are encouraged to wear face coverings.

 

Important Notes:

• • Your child is encouraged to use this opportunity to return any school property, i.e., library books, home reading books.  Please note: for all students returning to our school in September, all school technology may remain with the family through the summer.

 

• If you or your child is feeling ill in any way, please do not come to the school.  Contact the Principal, krista_mohrbeamish@wrdsb.ca  to make alternative arrangements.

Students with surnames from A-K can pick up their belongings from outside the GYM doors at the front of the school following this schedule:

Abdel-Aldass 9:00-10:00am

Alharbi- Awad 10:00-11:00am

B 11:00-12:00pm

C 12:00-1:00pm

D-E 1:00-2:00pm

F-G 2:00-3:00pm

 

Wednesday, June 17

H 9:00-10:00 am

I-J 10:00-11:00 am

K 11:00-12:00pm

 

 

Students with surnames beginning with L-Z can pick up their items from outside the LIBRARY at the side door which faces the parking lot. Please follow this schedule:

 

Tuesday, June 16

L 9:00-10:00am

M 10:00-11:00 am

N-O 11:00-12:00pm

P-Q 12:00-1:00pm

R 1:00-2:00pm

S 2:00-3:00 pm

 

Wednesday, June 17

T-V 9:00- 10:00am

W-Z 10:00-11:00am

 

 

Any items that we can’t match to a student, will be located on the sidewalk in front of the school in a “Lost and Found” area.  Please respect social distancing when looking for items, and only take what belongs to your family.

 

If families are moving out of the WRDSB, we ask that you also return your Chromebook and charger at this time.

 

Any labelled belongings that are not picked up by June 19th will be stored safely in the building until September.
