Empire was fortunate to have the opportunity to have the Rocks and Rings program come to their school on February 3 & 4. Each class had a chance to learn a little bit about curling.
Kerry-Lynn, the instructor was great at keeping things moving and explaining how the sport is played. The students got to try sweeping. They had to listen to their skip who held up either the green sign with “Hurry” on it or the red sign with “Woah.” They got to throw rocks on rollers and try and get them on the rings and learned how to count points. It was a great introduction to a very popular sport. We are fortunate to have two very active curling clubs in KW: The Westmount Curling Club and The Granite Curling Club. They both have terrific kids programs!!
