Winter weather has arrived!
Even with the cold weather, the students benefit from being outside for some fresh air and exercise. Except on extreme weather days, the students will be outside for a portion of each nutrition break. Please ensure that your child has a warm winter coat, snow pants, boots, mitts, a hat and a scarf. Please note that our climber playground area is closed during the winter months due to the frozen ground and slippery surfaces. Do not allow your child to play on this equipment before or after school hours.
If the weather deteriorates during the school day, walking students will remain at school until normal dismissal time, unless a parent chooses to pick up their child early. If the weather is deteriorating, transportation may be dispatched earlier to begin taking students home earlier than usual. This will be announced on all media outlets and there will be a minimum of one hour notice.
If you are concerned about the weather, you can make the decision as to whether it is safe to send your child to school. You can also pick up your child before the end of the school day.
If transportation (bus) is cancelled in the morning, there will not be any bussing in the afternoon at home time. Parents who choose to drive their bussed student to school must provide transportation home as well. If transportation is cancelled, all off-campus trips are cancelled. If a school is closed due to weather conditions, all evening rental programs are also cancelled.
