Starting School on Tuesday September 8th

 

Class lists will be posted on our school windows late in the day on Friday September 4th.  Tuesday, September 8th is the first day of school. Please have children arrive on the school playground between 9:05 and 9:20 a.m.  Each child is invited to find his or her teacher who will be identified by a large sign with his or her name, grade and classroom number.  Please ask a staff member if you need help finding the correct line. The bell will ring at 9:20 to begin the 2015/16 school year.  Due to safety concerns parents are asked to say good bye to their child at bell time so that we can begin our first day.  As well, to assist in creating a smooth transition for all students, parents are not able to remain and escort their child to their classroom.

 

Parents will meet their child at the end of the day outside their child’s dismissal door.  Portable students will meet outside their own portable.  Kindergarten students will meet outside the door by the kindergarten rooms.  Grade five and six students will be exiting by the doors near the new gym that lead to the playground.  Students in grades one and one/two (rooms 17, 18, 19 and 20) will exit the new double doors at the end of the grade one hall where our porta pack once was.  Some primary classes (room 15 kindergarten and rooms 11, 13 & 14) will line up at the large double doors leading to the playground (the ones with the ramp and near the washrooms!).

Remember to send a snack and a lunch because it will be a full day.  We look forward to an exciting 2015/2016 school year at Empire Public School!v
