Blues is a musical form and genre that originated in African-American communities in the “Deep South” of the United States around the end of the 19th century.  Today, Reverend Robert Jones who hails from Detroit Michigan, performed and taught our grades one to six students about this music genre.  He has performed throughout the United States, Canada and Europe and the message has always been the same–that traditional American songs and stories have much to teach us. We can learn a great deal about where we’ve been, who we are and where we are going.
