Starting School in September

Class lists will be posted on our school windows late in the day on Friday August 29th.  Tuesday, September 2nd is the first day of school. Please have children arrive on the school playground between 9:05 and 9:20 a.m.  Each child is invited to the gym to sit with his or her teacher (the teacher will be identified by a large sign with his or her name, grade and classroom number).  Please ask a staff member if you need help finding the correct spot. The bell will ring at 9:20 to begin the 2014/15 school year.  Due to safety concerns parents are asked to say good bye to their child at bell time so that we can begin our first day with an assembly.  Due to crowd control, parents are not able to remain and escort their child to their classroom.

Parents will meet their child at the end of the day outside their child’s dismissal door.  Portable students will meet outside their own portable.  Kindergarten students will meet outside the door by the kindergarten rooms.  Grade five and six students will be exiting by the doors near the new gym that lead to the playground.  Students in grades one and two (rooms 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19 and 20) will exit the large double doors (the ones with the ramp and near the washrooms!) leading to the playground.

Remember to send a snack and a lunch because it will be a full day.  We look forward to an exciting 2014 – 2015 school year at Empire Public School!
