Dear Parents,

We are excited to let you know about a truly unique opportunity our school community will be participating in this school year.

Be The Game (BTG) is an organization dedicated to “building strong kids from the inside out”. This unique approach to strengthening positive, safe and engaging learning environments is endorsed by many Olympic and Professional athletes, Kids Help Phone, as well as schools and youth sport communities across North America. BTG has gained International attention from News agencies and other major media outlets including Canadian Living Magazine (check out page 32 of the Canadian Living Oct. publication). You can learn more about this organization by visiting www.bethegame.ca.

BTG’s signature 21 Day Challenge is coming to our school on Monday October 7. The 21 Day Challenge is a school wide challenge which will engage our students to not only consciously bestow Acts Of Kindness upon their fellow classmates, friends and family, but also encourage leadership, positive character and empathy towards their fellow person.

Your child will be bringing home a booklet in which they will be recording their Acts of Kindness over the 21 Day period. We encourage you to ask your child about their Acts of Kindness and create opportunity for them to discuss their positive contribution to building our school community into a strong, positive and healthy place in which we will all thrive. Encourage your child to celebrate their unique leadership abilities and to participate deeply and actively in this process.

At the conclusion of the 21 Day Challenge we will celebrate our schools success by announcing the total number of Kindness Acts we have collected and we will be proud to have this displayed on the BTG website. To date the Be The Game team has already collected over 160,000 Acts of Kindness in their quest to reach 1 million this 2013-14 school year. We are proud to be part of the BTG 1 million strong club. Our celebration will include special messaging from some of the BTG Olympic and Professional athletes who stand tall with us in our determination to “build strong kids from the inside out”.

Thank you so much for being a part of our school community. You are an important and influential element in the school life of your youngster and it is with deep thanks we acknowledge your important contribution to making this initiative as successful as possible.
